ABOUT US

OUR HISTORY

Pastor Godfrey was saved in 1972 in Montgomery, Alabama, and one year later began serving in ministry. He began his full-time ministry in 1979 in Panama City, Florida, at Central Baptist Church, and in 1991, he became Pastor of Fundamental Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida.

The church experienced rapid growth and quickly outgrew its buildings. At this time, the church voted to relocate and change its name to Marcus Pointe Baptist Church. Since 1991, average weekly attendance has climbed from 63 people to more than 2,000.

WHO WE ARE

OUR STORY

Marcus Pointe Christian School has a rich legacy of faith and is built on Christian values and morals. Inspired by the educational legacy and traditions handed down to us by Pastor Gordon Godfrey, Jr., we are confident that our academic excellence will allow us to continue to serve the Pensacola community for years to come.

OUR MISSION

Marcus Pointe Christian School exists to assist parents in the education of their children by equipping students with an academically excellent foundation and a biblical world-view.

Our teachers are all well-trained, credentialed, and have all given testimony of the calling of God in their lives to teach in a Christian school.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Marcus Pointe Christian School, we are committed to a program of excellence. We provide exceptional, faith-based instruction using the best materials and facilities of the highest quality. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to creating an environment where every student can cultivate a love of learning and service. We believe in the importance of a biblically-based curriculum.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

  1. We Believe: there is one God, eternally existent in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  2. We Believe: in the deity of Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.
  3. We Believe: in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, and that men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God’s grace alone are we saved.
  4. We Believe: in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved to the resurrection of life and they that are lost to the resurrection of damnation.
  5. We Believe: in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
  6. We Believe: in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
